With 2025 coming to an end, it felt only right to recap some of our KZUU DJs’ favorite artists of the year!

The year 2025 did not fall short of inspiring and dance-worthy music. Below is a list of some fav artists that our KZUU DJ’s listened to this year:

This list ranges from pop music all the way to cloud rap and alt rock, showcasing our DJ’s varying music tastes. A couple artists that our KZUU DJs had in common on their Spotify wraps was My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. Each DJ has their own adored artists, but it’s always fun to see the ones we have in common!

Sierra Sullivan

Top album: Even In Arcadia by Sleep Token

Top song: I Caught Myself by Paramore 

I was pretty surprised about my top songs honestly! I thought that I would have more variety in artists but they were all by the same two artists (sleep token and paramore). Last year was pretty similar though, I had both of them in my top 5 too, so I wasn’t surprised there. Sometimes I do think that Spotify isn’t as accurate as other apps though, like Spotistats, or airbuds. They all say something different, and I usually feel like those two are more accurate in my opinion.

Top album: BRAT by Charli XCX

Top song: Von Dutch by Charli XCX

My biggest surprise was seeing no One Direction or any of their solo projects in my top data (some were in the playlist at the end) because they’ve been in every Spotify wrapped I’ve had so far! I was also surprised to see Sally, When The Wine Tuns Out (Role Model) in my top songs but that’s perfectly fine with me.

Top song: Carry the Zero by Built to Spill

I wasn’t super surprised about my wrapped, it definitely made sense looking back at my year of what I was listening to each month. Although, I can’t help but notice I always feel like Spotify wrapped tends to focus on the first half of the year to have more sway in what ends up being on your wrapped. This year, my top artists and songs differed a lot from last year because I’m always switching up what I listen to but also because I was traveling for the first half of the year and tended to go for a pretty happy & easy-going vibe. Either alt rock like the smashing pumpkins, built to spill, sonic youth, indie/experimental stuff like Mk.gee and tame impala, or classics like the Beatles and the kinks were definitely what I turned on the most, so I’d say it was pretty accurate. 🙂
