The wait is over- Mt. Joy have finally released new music and spoiler alert, It doesn’t disappoint!
Indie-folk fusion, Mt. Joy, come at us with their latest single “Rearrange Us” a smooth, foot-tapping, feel good gem that makes you just wanna groove. This is their first release since the full-blown masterpiece that was their debut album back in 2018. This track comes with all the soulful blues-infused qualities of the first album that made us fall for them in the first place, but we now see lead singer, Matt Quinn, in a happier song-writing state, crooning about a pretty serious love interest. Lead guitarist, Sam Cooper, starts this off strong, with an incredibly catchy electric guitar riff that remains present throughout the entire song, and will surely be stuck in you head for the remainder of the day. There’s also a very discernible electric keyboard throughout the song that’s a nice addition from what we’ve heard from them in the past. With this new release, we see that Mt. Joy can up their game, and hone in on their craft, while still remaining true to their roots. This song is a languid look into the ephemeral state of life, yet how meaningful it all can still be. “Our lives have changed so much because of music in exciting ways, but ultimately life is short and maybe we are changing at the expense of real human connection. It’s a scary and exciting life and I think the song reflects that.” – Matt Quinn
Put this on, and get lost in it.
