Our hearts go out to those negatively impacted by the current war in Ukraine. We are sending all of our love to those in especially challenging times as we move forward. We stand with the people of Ukraine.
Ashlyn:
Introduction: I miss nothing more than attending concerts, so I’m really looking forward to Treefort! I’ve been to upwards of 15 concerts, but I’ve never had the opportunity to attend a music festival. Getting back into it, I cannot wait to lose my voice by screaming the lyrics to a song, getting stuck in a big crowd, dancing with strangers, I genuinely look forward to doing it all. I think going to Treefort will be a great introduction back into the music scene, and will give me a lot of fun experiences, not only with music but with other art forms as well. With all of the music options being played at Treefort, I hope to find some new favorites, and have some fun with the KZUU crew!
- When I saw that filmfest was being offered, I got incredibly excited. Films have always been a big hobby of mine, and I love nothing more than spending a day watching a bunch of movies. I think film is a great visual art form, and something that takes lots of time and commitment to work on. I think being able to watch the films people have worked hard on will be an amazing opportunity, as I can only anticipate the genres and acting styles portrayed.
- Words cannot describe how excited I am to see Men I Trust. I don’t tend to listen to bedroom pop, but the lead singer Emma has one of my favorite voices of modern indie pop. I first started listening to them back in 2017 when I heard Tailwhip for the first time. Tailwhip will always have a special place in my heart, since it’s really the jumping point for me to discover more artists and find individuals who sounded extremely passionate about the music they were making. The keyboardist Dragos and the guitarist Jessy both take inspiration from 2000’s electronic music, and this carries through a lot of the songs they have produced. Not only is their music dance worthy, but it’s perfect for driving around with friends with the windows down and singing along.

Caden:
Intro- I’ve never actually been to a music festival before, I’ve been to some shows here and there but I don’t think I’ve been more excited about anything. Treefort is going to be such an amazing experience, with all the great talented artists and an extensive list of different forts to visit. I almost feel overwhelmed since there is so much that I want to partake in. Especially coming out of the pandemic, we have been deprived of so many festivals and different experiences. I couldn’t be happier that I’m going to be able to share this with the KZUU crew.
- On my first look through of the lineup I saw some amazing talent was going to be performing, but it wasn’t until my second look through of the lineup that I realized Goth Babe will be performing this year. I am so unbelievably excited to see them perform, I have been a fan for some time now and they have slowly been rising on my list of favorite artists.
- If you know me then you’d know I have grown up skateboarding. One of the people I’ve grown up skating with is Jett Vreeman, so I’m really excited to see what the skatefort has to offer. I think this is a super cool and unique thing to incorporate into a festival, so when I’m not enjoying the amazing live music you will probably find me at the skatefort. One of my favorite aspects to skateboarding is the community, so I hope to meet some really cool people at this fort as well.
